Craziness...

My obsession with pink color on my lips...

Asian guys like to see girls pouting and being stupid. How about this?

And this.

I accidently removed this picture...ugh. My Dior Addict Extreme No. 486 worked with Viva Glam Nicki, purpleish pink and yellowish pink.

Finally found a nail saloon sold Deborah Lippmann nail lacquer. I wanted "Glitter in the Air" soooo bad!

It works with USLU Airline ZRH. I should have applied two coats of ZRH...

David sent me a picture of Angry Bird fruity gummies he took at Walmart(I think). I think they taste nothing different from bear gummies, but those angry little birds always amused people. I wanna eat up the pigs! Can't beat them? Eat 'em!

Teaching material for Chinese language

Recently I've been browsing some illustrators' blogs, it seems like they were either given professional training or went to art schools. Well maybe not all of them, but that made me think what I could do with my limited skills.

Early this week a brilliant idea popped up in my head! Maybe I could make drawings for teaching material.

OK, I know this is not Chinese, but I just came up with an idea of drawing sushi at work.

This character means "sushi" and read as "sushi" as well. Guess what they are? :)

It was always exciting to learn words of food, so I think it should be a lot easier for beginners to pick up those words.

I was going to draw more baskets of dim sum but I was quite sleep while making this drawing. Everybody knows what dim sum is, so I am not going to explaining here.

Except teaching Chinese with pictures, I'd like to introduce some street food we had from where I live.

In western countries, they call it "bubble tea" or "boba tea". Why it is called bubble tea is because we shake the shaker to mix the tea and ingredients such as tapioca pearls well, and this action will make bubble on the top. "Boba tea" comes from "boba milk tea", milk tea with big tapioca pearls. "Boba" means "woman with big boobs" in Chinese, it's kinda disrespectful to be honest, but I still have no idea how big tapioca pearls related to woman with big boobs...

I planned to make a drawing of a bowl of steamed rice, but I failed on the shadow of rice grains, so I decided to make a drawing of a bowl of noodles instead. As you can see this is Japanese ramen, miso based soup of course, with roasted pork slice, boiled egg, chopped scallion, tree fungus and kamaboko.

Little surprise in a rainy afternoon

It has been raining like crazy all this weeked! All I wanted to do was staying home doing house work and blogging. But this morning, I made myself going out for lunch at a vegetarian restaurant with mom and sister. After lunch, we went to DAISO and I found this cool little stuff over there.

My little robot arm! Not sure what I am gonna do with it, but I will figure out.

And I found this cute little umbrella. The yellow and orange spots reminds me of orange fruit jelly.

We watched Mr. Bean after we were back from DAISO this afternoon, and there was a scene that Bean and David were at an amusement park. That made me think what kind of sweet could represent the United State of America, so I drew this.

Making fun of the aliens...

Random things that make me happy

So far I don't have many audiences viewing this blog, which it's alright because I still have my boyfriend and some friends/colleagues supporting me. I love you guys! One of the reasons I really like about Blogger is it is not so commerical like the writers are paid to write good things about the products.

My colleague Cosiya is on vacation in Bangkok and will resume to work on Wednesday. I kinda miss her but I am excited too, 'cos she's going to bring back a lot of snacks! So last night I drew something for her.

She told me Swesens in Bangkok was pretty cheap, I hope she can have much ice cream 'cos she has a sweet tooth, and she can always have dessert after lunch/dinner like she has another stomach.

I did not do a good job on the cream part, it looks pretty "soft". If you have an idea how to make liquid cream soild, you must know what I am talking about.

Thursday night I made this drawing while watching the movie "Orphan". Nothing related, I was just obsessed with the color "Tiffany Blue", which was pretty much like a lighter tone of robin-egg blue. Actually I kinda failed drawing the bow, it looked like nothing it should have been. (sigh)

Today David sent me a picture he took on the way to Panama City, Florida. He posted it on Facebook and it amused many people. That made me miss the States even more, like you can have such little surprises anytime over there, and also, the people are eazy to be excited, which I like a lot. I think it's part of their nature. (smile)

beauty supply

Monday, David and I were talking about his fantasy of making his girl look like a Suicide Girl. Well I got all the colors of eye shadow, eye liner, blush and nail polish it needs, but none of my lipsticks matched the look. Then I thougt of the new Mac Viva Glam Lipstick.

The sales person/make-up artist told me it looked just like Barbie Pink on the lips. But isn't Barbie Pink more like the color fuchsia?

The new color of Mac Viva Glam lipstick was really pretty, however when I had it applied on my lips, it didn't look like either the lipstick itself or what it looked like on the web page. In fact, there wasn't a problem with chromatic aberration but my lips. Well I was a little bit frustrated but I kept looking for the color that just looked like "Satin"(the new color of Viva Glam lipstick), and it must have been a vivid purplish or yellowish pink color.

I tried Anna Sui and Shu Uemura because they were not so pricey just like Mac, unfortunately I did not find anything similar. Then I realized if you were looking for odd or really bright colors, Japanese make-up lines would be good choices, I had to turn to Dior, because Dior got the full collection of different pink colors, and the quality of each product was really good. The only thing I did not like was the pricing.

After trying two or three different pink colors, I decided to buy this Dior Addict Extreme lipstick in 486(Cruise). It was color-saturated, but still moisturatzing.

The next thing I need to get is probably the yellow or robin's-egg blue eye shadow.

hot enough to get something cool

It's super hot here in Taipei, about 35 degrees Celsius. David sent me a photo he took at Steak 'n Shake(I miss this place!), it was Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich!! That made me think of the Imei Ice Cream Sandwich, kids nowadays probably never had a chance to try this good stuff...

What makes sweets taste sooo goood? Only Oreo! The man created Oreo cookies deserves an award I think...

Frozen yogurt somehow becomes something trendy, which is actually healthier comparing to ice cream though it still makes you fat. This is my dream combination: cherry flavored frozen yogurt with fresh blueberries, cherries and mochi on top.

old drawings part three

I stopped using Draw Pad Pro since I downloaded ArtStudio Lite. The full version is only $2.99, but I just don't want to pay any app on my credit unless I get an iPad.

I was really excited and trying to figure out how ArtStudio Lite worked, so I drew two cupcakes.

One with strawberry flavored frosting and the other one with vanilla flavored frosting.

Classic flavors! I really like the mint choco chip ice cream scoop I drew.

Drew this little Brainy for my boyfriend; he got me a Brainy sticker his first time visiting me in Taipei. I love my nerdy boy.

One guy was in a t-shirt with Charlie Brown in the Korean show the night before I made this drawing, somehow Charlie Brown always makes me think of my boyfriend and the movie "Kill Bill".

Another drawing for my colleague, but I totally failed in drawing Smurfette.

Well, Papa Smurf was a lot easier, think it was the shape of the face... The most difficult parts are the eyes, it took forever to get them done.

old drawings part two

Here are more old drawings by Draw Pad Pro.

Drew this for my boyfriend when he was back to his hometown Panama City, Florida. This is actually what I had at a seafood restaurant during my visiting back in Nov. last year; not sure if I had gravy on top of my mashed potato...

The Southerners really like to have grits for breakfast, and this is how my boyfriend makes it taste good. I believe it tastes better with pork floss.

Never had snow cone during my stay in the State. It's more like junk food and not healthy at all, but I believe it tastes gooood during summer time.

Craving for hot dog while I was drawing this.

I missed Friday Fest and Panama City and I still do. Loved the colorful cotton candy, blooming onion, vintage cars, antique shop and the friendly local people.

old drawings

My Nokia 5800 died at the end of last year, so I got me an iPhone 4 with an one-year extended contract. I was pretty excited because I was no longer a "low-tech person", but still a little bit upset that I was still paying for the airline ticket to Orlando. Anyway, finally got this magical device manufactured by Apple Almighty, now I can make free calls to my boyfriend via LINE and share my photos and drawings on Facebook whenever I want to.

Here are some of my old drawings by Draw Pad Pro.

That time I just started drawing with iPhone and had no idea which app did good work. Draw Pad Pro is good but it's more like used for quick notes and sketching, that you do not have many choice of colors and multiple functions like brush size and etc. The picture above is what I drew for my boyfriend.

My colleague Vince in HK is a big fan of Lotso.

It was getting hot here in Taiwan, I could have ice cream every single day.

The day before I drew this I found nutella & GO at Wendal's! This is something I really miss about Europe.

Drew this for my boyfriend. My colleague Cosiya said it looked like mikan(Japanese tangerine).

I believe it's not hard to guess what I was drawing. My boyfriend got me a Tiffany's necklace for my birthday last year, and I am really thankful that my beloved man has been trying his best to make me the happiest woman in the world.

My boyfriend is a big fan of Tetsujin 28(yes he likes old school comics and music). We should make a trip to Kobe to see the giant Tetsujin 28 someday.
