indie girl's life - be happy everyday

I like drawing. To me,  it is the happiest thing aside of shopping.

marker

Made this note for my colleague Cosiya.

Really, the royal baby is none of my business because I am not British. But it was still something big so I drew the flag of the UK and some roses. :)

Yay for the rubber duckie! The world famous giant rubber duckie is coming to Taiwan and will stay with us forever and ever! Can't wait to see it in December.

Corner of my desk. Those are a small part of my drawing kits in a vintage glass, which I got in a flea market in Georgia, USA.

My very first succulent plant, shoots of dragon fruit plant.

Well, I am not a fan of fast food, but Mos Burger is definitely the best fast food franchise in the world!

Yes I went shopping again, and no, I didn't buy me a pair of ballerina. Next time I will!

I don't dance but I needed a canvas bag, so I bought this dance bag. Simple as that. ;)

graphite pencil

Saw this cute exotic shorthair on a Facebook page for a makeup line. Can't believe I spent 4 hours drawing it.

graphite pencil

I used a different filter to take a snap of the face. I think it may look good on the prints this way.

charcoal pencil + graphite pencil

I wanted to draw a cute one, but somehow it looked so...sad. lol

colored pencil

I think it is the filter, in the original painting the pink is a little more lighter. But, I kinda like it this way. This is actually a draft for my acrylic paint on a canvas bag, I was too lazy to organize our acrylic colors so my "big project" is just going a little further.

indie girl's life - artist for pets

It was hard to be productive when you were surrounded by negative emotions. A white guy killed an unarmed a black boy was ruled innocent(you know what I am talking about); here in where I live, a soldier was bullied to death in the army. Everyday you have those comments and relative news articles take 70% of your feeds on Facebook,  well I have never been a cold-hearted person, but I do need a break from these. As to the people who updated these current incidents on the social networks every single day, if you wanna do something, then do something, don't just talk about it and bitch on the Internet!

Anyway, here comes my recent artworks.

marker + artist pen

Found some canvas bags while I browsing Muji's website, then a cool idea popped up in my head. I am gonna do some acrylic paint on those canvas bags.

graphite pencil

I believe there are already hundreds of tote bags like this, but I just wanna make my own ballerina tote.

Well it was the first time I had this idea that I did not need a digital SLR camera. The filter worked great on this picture! Oh if you wonder, I used LINE Camera and Instagram.

graphite pencil

Did another portrait for my friend Hedy's dog, which is a Japanese Spitz. I had a good time drawing this dog, it was like he was smiling with teeth...and tongue at me.

Mom said I had become an artist for dogs, well, if there was secret, underground dog society, I could be a court artist for them.

colored pencil

Oh and I drew a minion for my former colleague in Singapore. I could of done better if our pet parrots was not annoying me.

"Mood Indigo"

Looking forward to see this movie! Another romantic love story with awesome decors.

indie girl's diary - monster storm

I think this is how CNN described this typhoon. As you can see we survived after the "monster storm"! Honestly it was not so serious, I do not understand why CNN always made it like "we are gonna die". (shrug)

Anyway, I was still productive...in my art, but I was tired of portraits for human so I did not do any last week. Again, it is a hard task for a non-professional artist, like me.

new toys: water soluble graphite pencils, charcoal pencil and markers

artist pen + marker

Made this drawing with my Muji markers and Japanese artists pen. I tried to make it look like a real "latte art", but it doesn't look right I know. Oh, the quote is from I-D mag.

ball point pen + marker

I drew this because I was craving for bear gummy.

graphite pencil

I made a portrait of my friend Cass's dog, a Shih-Tzu Dog. Drawing the dog fur was killing me! I know, I know it was a piece of cake to a professional artist. Luckily it turned out to be good.

graphite pencil

This is a re-do. Before this I made another portrait of my colleague Agnes' cat MuiMui, a Scottish Fold Cat, but it was not too good because I did not spend much time drawing.

Portraits of our pets, our love and our inspirations. I love drawing pets, it makes me happy.

water soluble graphite pencil

First time trying out my water soluble graphite pencils by a sketch of chocolate cupcake! I was having much fun with this good stuff, it worked really good on drawing the icing topping.

water soluble colored pencil

I tried to draw something happy for the coming blue Monday. Monday is always gloomy, we need something colorful. It was fun to draw a rose, I will try more with watercolors.

Oh well, it was annoying when you did not have enough colored pencils.(nod, pls) I will definitely get me ENOUGH colored pencils when I am back from Singapore.

indie girl's diary - eat and draw till you drop

I had a great weekend because I ate a lot, period.

There's brunch place called The Diner near Taipei 101, took me an hour to get there for the brunch/afternoon tea date with my Cosiya. Girls' date is always the best, we had a blast there and...ate a lot. This is what I got to drink.

My Egg Benedict came with hash browns, the eggs tasted okay but the hash browns was really good, I guess this is the only American food I miss.

Cosiya's burger with "Thai chili sauce" came with A LOT OF fries. I did not tried the burger but she said it was just okay.

The brownie came with Cosiya's burger set was really good! Unfortunately it was the only dish we really liked that day, next time I will just go back for the Po-Boy Sandwich.

Btw, I think I am getting better and better at food shots. If you did not read my description below the pictures, you'll probably go and get them right away. Hahahaha

After our brunch/afternoon tea we went shopping at the mall. Cosiya got her a pair of shoes at ABC Mart and clothes at Mango and Zara, which were on sale. As for me, I only got me a lipstick and a lip definer at Burberry because I am going on vacation in Singapore next month.

After our shopping we had dinner at this famous Hong Kong tea restaurant. I had noodles, chicken wings and Yuan-Yang(coffee + milk tea).

Cosiya and I shared these wings came with my noodle, and we both liked them a lot. Very juicy and tasty!

This is Cosiya's curry noodles with fish balls and..., can't remember all of them. She said they were good but not as good as what we had in Wanchai, Hong Kong.

Now I just wanna go back to Hong Kong...

My Yuan-Yang and Cosiya's 7UP with saulted lemon. I don't know how to explain them sufficiently, but you know they are Hong Kong street food, no need to explain too much, just try!

I had never been so productive...in my arts.

Well these are just some stupid thoughts, so I am not going to explain the ideas. lol

graphite pencil

I made a portrait of my colleague Vince's dog Lemon. I was a little bit stressed to draw him because he was so cute and I just didn't want to ruin it, luckily the portrait turned out to be really good. Phew~

graphite pencil

Again, it was stressful to draw a legendary fashion icon...especially when you did not have good skills.(talking about myself) The only part I am satisfied with is the hair, and no, she is not Audrey, she is just a beautiful girl looks like Audrey Hepburn. I need more exercises, definitely.

The end.
